The Pomperaug boys' basketball team pulled away to defeat New Fairfield 74-54 on January 21.
Pomperaug was led by Dean Koulouris with 23 points. Dion Zhuta and Spencer Dragone both scored 13 and Andrew Doan had 11 for the Panthers.
Matthew Garbowski scored 19 points to lead the Rebels. Matthew Langdon and Cole Zering both scored six, and Nick Diyman and Jayden Racca each had five.
Koulouris drained five 3-pointers for Pomperaug. Grabowski made a trio of 3-pointers and Zering had two 3-pointers. Dragone pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked three shots.
The game was tied 15-15 after one quarter. It was 31-24 Panthers at the half and 46-39 heading to the fourth. Pomperaug outscored New Fairfield 28-15 in the final period.
