Monster Effort From Meekins As Kolbe Girls And Boys Earn Victories On The Hardwood

The Kolbe Cathedral girls' and boys' basketball teams have had success in recent games

Kolbe's boys, coming off a 68-64 win over non-conference team, Bridgeport rival Harding out of the FCIAC on January 10, have won four in a row.

On the girls' hardwood, the Cougars came away with a 65-50 win over Hillhouse on January 8 as a trio of players registered double-double performances.

Brianna Meekins was a force with a monster effort, scoring 25 points and grabbing 23 rebounds.

Robin Selitte had 10 points and 13 rebouns, Mishell Pringle had 10 points and 16 rebounds. Kolbe scored 24 in the first quarter.

In a 58-38 win over Masuk the next night, Pringle registered 19 points and 15 rebounds, Selitte had 11 points and 13 boards, her fourth double-double of the year. Meekins scored 12 points in the first half; she missed half the game with an injury and is day to day going forward.\
