Girls' Basketball: Top Seeds Locked In

Updated: Feb 24

The SWC playoffs are just one week away — quarterfinals are on February 21 — and while some spots may be up in the air with one game remaining for the teams, the top two are locked in.

Notre Dame, unbeaten in conference play and coming off a 70-34 triumph over Weston on February 14, is the top seed. Newtown, which has had just one SWC defeat — at the hands of Notre Dame in a close one — is the No. 2 seed. Newtown defeated Kolbe Cathedral 46-39 on February 14.

Cyleigh Wilson had 12 points and Amy Sapenter scored 10 for Newtown in the win over Kolbe. Brianna Meekins had 15 to lead the Kolbe Cougars.
