It took some clutch 3-point shooting and late-game 3-point plays to overcome a tough New Milford opponent 51-48 on January 21, and Bethel's girls' basketball team then toppled Joel Barlow 51-29 two days later to make it four wins in five games heading into a Saturday, January 25 visit to FCIAC foe Fairfield Ludlowe at 2:30 pm.
The game with New Milford was all tied at 35 apiece going to the fourth quarter when the Wildcats took the lead for good early in the final stanza. Vicky Gracy and Brooke Lacey hit shots from downtown and Mia Prazeres and Lacey converted 3-point plays the old fashioned way as the Wildcats built an eight point lead then held off the Green Wave.
Gracy had 15 points and Lacey scored 14 to lead the Wildcats. Ruby Ackerman and Maranda Nyborg had eight and seven, respectively, and Prazeres added five.
